Gaumee Itthihaad

There is a need in today’s Maldives for a different view.

Gaumee Itthihaad has formed a coalition with the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in order to sue for the rights of all Maldivians and to create a team dedicated to both change and development.

We, Gaumee Itthihaad and MDP, have come together to create a platform for those individuals who wish to present new ideas, who value honest leadership that cares about the Maldivian People. We want to bring together new ideas on health care, education, housing and other development to better improve our country and give our citizens something we’ve never had – a truly representational government.

Every citizen has an obligation to actively engage in reform. In helping to make our country better. Through the creation of sound principles of political engagement and the encouragement of mass participation we can change the tide of corruption and indifference within our political system.

Gaumee Itthihaad (National Unity) promises a moderate platform, standing up against corruption, radicalism, and political negligence. We want to help get the people of Maldives involved with leaders who care about the people. We want to put the people’s views forward to voice concerns and opinions; and to put forward plausible solutions to different issues.
